Augmented reality & WebAR product experiences

Augmented reality places a digital representation in a view of the real environment. For product communication, the useful question is what the customer can understand better: shape, presence, scale or configuration. DPIX connects AR to a complete product story on the web.

01

Start with a reliable asset

A useful product model needs a clear silhouette, appropriate materials and an efficient delivery size. Real-scale presentation also requires verified dimensions and unit calibration. If dimensions are unavailable, the experience should be presented as a spatial preview rather than a measurement tool.

02

Support the device the customer has

WebXR and Android Scene Viewer can provide mobile AR paths. Quick Look provides a path on compatible Apple devices. Support varies by browser and hardware, so a normal 3D viewer and product images remain part of the experience. Desktop visitors can continue on their phone through a QR handoff.

03

Plan delivery and infrastructure

Models, textures and viewers should load only when useful, with a readable fallback if the rich experience fails. Hosting, local deployment, asset access and device requirements are defined for each project. Domestic infrastructure is a deployment requirement to validate, not a guarantee that every browser AR service operates offline.

What a project can deliver

  • Asset audit and model preparation
  • Interactive 3D product viewer
  • Mobile AR and desktop handoff
  • Fallback, accessibility and device QA

A private EV venture requested a product catalog for investor meetings. DPIX identified that the real challenge was not visual documentation, but investor confidence, product clarity and investment narrative.

Practical questions

Does WebAR require an app?

A browser-based experience can avoid a dedicated app installation, but the available AR mode depends on the device, browser and platform services. Compatibility must be tested for the intended audience.

Can AR show exact product dimensions?

Only when the source dimensions, units and model scale are verified. AR tracking and user-controlled scaling also affect the presentation; it should not replace physical measurement.
